Plasticizer is a material, which on addition to a resin, decreases the accumulation of intermolecular forces along the polymer chain. Mostly used plasticizers include dioctyl sebacate and dioctyl phthalate. To reduce the cost and the enviornmental pollution, different types of natural oils are used as plasticizers. In the preparation of pye samples, pye powder was mixed with calcium carbonate, lead stearate, carbon black and wax. Then soya oil and epoxidised soya oil were mixed separately as plasticizers to prepare two different samples. Fusion behaviour of these mixtures was checked using Brabender plastogram. Pv C sheets were prepared from the mixtures using the hot press and their technological properties were investigated From the results we can decide that the presence of a plasticizer decreases the fusion time and the tensile strength.
