| dc.description.abstract | Increased requirement for diagnostic tests has posed a significant burden on the healthcare systems throughout the world as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. The recommended test at present for a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection is the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) performed on a relevant clinical sample. Rapid point of care molecular assays is available for use and these could accelerate the diagnostic process and help triage patients at emergency settings in the future. | en_US |
