Abstract
This paper reviews the literature on small industries and analyses the sector's importance to developing economies. The main objective of almost all development programmes in developing countries is to equalize the level of entitlement and capabilities of poor people in all regions. In order to achieve a well-balanced growth in living conditions in all regions, great importance is given to the decentralization of industrialization.
